GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for the maintenance and administration of DART's major enterprise applications systems, including being the Primary Lawson System Administrator and secondary Trapeze System Administrator, and other systems as assigned. Closely monitors the performance of enterprise application systems and components to ensure systems availability and operations. Ensures system efficiency and security. Designs, implements, and maintains systems and interfaces, and works with users and technical staff in the support of business applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manages all Lawson and Trapeze systems, 3rd party software, and Oracle database activities focused on carrying out approved systems design and implementation projects. Monitors overall performance of information systems on a regular basis to ensure system up-time, quality efficiency, and accuracy. Conducts performance tests as necessary. Revises existing systems and procedures to correct problems.
  2. Performs complex enterprise systems environment and application upgrades and installs critical patches as needed. Coordinates and track patch promotion from test to production environments and adheres to IT Change Management processes. Maintains file systems, directories, log files, print files, and work files. Works with DBA, Unix Administrators, and System Engineers to define and implement backup and recovery procedures and database management and file restorations. Works with enterprise system development software, interfaces, and configures Web Portals.
  3. Provides consultation, project lead, support, and training to technical team and users. Research and provide applications support to users.
  4. Works with vendor support to diagnose and resolve software problems. Identifies, documents, resolves, and communicates solutions and system problems.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

  1. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems or related field.
  2. Seven (7) years technical experience developing, maintaining, and working with Lawson ERP software, Trapeze Software, and/or related enterprise software to include systems administration and configuration of Web Portal. Strong general knowledge of computer systems, networking, and connectivity. Work experience within VM server architecture.
  3. **** This person will serve as the Primary Lawson System Admin and secondary Trapeze System Admin.
  4. **** Lawson System Admin Skillset: Working experience with Windows operating systems and servers, UNIX environment and scripting, LDAP directory structure, IBM middleware components including Web Sphere, Lawson Systems Foundation, Micro Focus COBOL compiler, and BSI Tax Factory. Work experience with the Lawson application development tools such as Portal, Design Studio, MS Add Inns, and Lawson CASE tools. Experience with programming languages such as COBOL, HTML, and Java/Java Script a plus. Experience with Landmark technology, LBI Dashboards, Reporting, Smart Notes, and PFI/IPA Administration preferable. Work experience with Lawson Role-based security. Work experience with relational database management systems (Oracle, DB2) and development using SQL and PL/SQL.
  5. **** Trapeze System Admin Skillset: Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Trapeze Software Modules such as Bus Stop Manager, Info, Plan, FX, or OPS, and knowledge of Trapeze data schemas and role based security. Able to troubleshoot trip plans and schedule data, and understand Customer Information dealing with transfers and common locations. Able to debug Trapeze logs. Experience with HTML and XML for Trapeze Web Services and Web Trip Planning a plus. Experience with Oracle and PL/SQL. Technical Lead working with System Analysts.
  6. Strong analytical skills required interacting with customers to evaluate work and find solutions to complex technical problems.
  7. Good interpersonal skills required interacting with customers and clients and to effectively communicate with all levels, both inside and outside of DART.
  8. Ability to demonstrate a fiduciary obligation to section, division, department, and DART in handling materials and information of a confidential nature.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to Senior Manager-ERP *

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
