GENERAL SUMMARY:
Provides administrative support to customers with sales of passes and merchandise; Processes various documents to include photo identification (ID), fare evasion citation payments, TVM machine refunds. Maintains photographs and storage of DART Marketing archives. Maintains appropriate levels of office supplies. Conducts off-site sales when assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists in opening and closing operation; maintain proper essential control. Secures and verifies daily cash funds and DART passes and decals.
  2. Handles cash and credit card transactions using P.C. register and PEM machine.
  3. Prepares daily sales report forms related to sales, accountability, and inventory of passes.
  4. Will be required to become familiar with DART information to assist with and address customer inquiries in person and over the phone.
  5. Process various documents to include DART passes, fare evasion citations, DART Student, Senior, Disabled, Reduced, and Annual Photo I.D.s. Ensures all requirements are met for processing I.D. cards.
  6. Prepares monthly store audits of passes and other reports as assigned.
  7. Assist in maintaining the stock of office supplies and organizing the cleaning (janitorial) schedule for the store.
  8. Operates DART non-revenue vehicle as necessary to set up for remote sales opportunities.
  9. Responsible for pickup of deliveries from the mailroom and delivery of merchandise orders to interdepartmental customers.
  10. Performs physical inventory and maintains an inventory of DART store merchandise.
  11. Required to work flexible work hours Monday - Friday between 7:30 am - 6:00 pm.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

  1. Bi-lingual preferred. (English/Spanish)
  2. High school or general education diploma (GED).
  3. One (1) year of experience in banking, retail sales operations, customer service environment, or related fields.
  4. Pass background investigation and credit reference check to handle money.
  5. Valid Texas Class C Drivers License. No Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) conviction within the last sixty (60) consecutive months; not more than one (1) DWI conviction on driving record. There are no more than three (3) convictions of moving violations within the last thirty-six (36) consecutive months on driving record to operate armored and DART non-revenue vehicles.
  6. Ability to operate standard office equipment such as copier, typewriter, and calculator, facsimile, electronic capture terminal, camera, cash register, etc.
  7. Ability to lift objects weighing 15-30 pounds.
  8. Ability to be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
  9. Ability to figure out processes necessary to get things done; simplify complex processes; know how to separate and combine tasks into efficient workflows.
  10. Ability to be action-oriented and full of energy for the things he/she sees as challenging; not fearful of acting with a minimum plan.
  11. Ability to relate well to people; builds constructive and effective relationships; uses diplomacy and tact.
  12. Ability to use resources effectively and efficiently.
  13. Ability to use rigorous logic and methods to solve complex problems with practical solutions.
  14. Ability to effectively and efficiently use his/her time; can attend to a broader range of activities.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to VP and Chief Marketing Officer*

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
