GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, provides and coordinates a wide variety of activities for the Executive Office, including project and program management, tracking and monitoring status of outputs and outcomes, business and financial analysis, budgeting and accounting functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs routine duties related to the scheduling area of assignment.
  2. Creates, oversees, maintains, monitors, develops, and supports special projects, programs, and reports.
  3. Assists with Board Agenda Workflow process.
  4. Gathers and analyzes data for business proposals, cost estimates, and schedules.
  5. Assists in the preparation of financial planning, accounting, and budgeting activities.
  6. Conducts research on a variety of topics.
  7. Reviews and recommends improvements to business and organizational systems.
  8. Provides support to senior staff in complex projects as directed.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

  1. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field.
  2. One (1) year of demonstrated research, capstone class, internship or related experience using business or financial methods in a transit, voluntary services or public service environment.
  3. Proficient in personal computer (PC) software applications such as Windows, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database, and in use of typical office equipment such as copier, calculator, typewriter, or scanner.
  4. High level of written and oral communication, analytical, and creative skills to find solutions to complex interpersonal, professional, technical, and administrative problems.
  5. Knowledge and skilled working with statistics and detailed technical information.
  6. Ability to demonstrate a fiduciary responsibility to the section, division, department and DART in handling confidential information and assets.
  7. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Gets first-hand customer information and uses it for improvements in products and services. Acts with customers in mind. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.
  8. Ability to use time effectively and efficiently, to concentrate efforts on the more important priorities, and attend to a broad range of activities.
  9. Ability to be action oriented and full of energy. Not fearful of acting with a minimum of planning. Seizes more opportunities than others.
  10. Ability to use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. Can see hidden problems. Is excellent at honest analysis. Looks beyond the obvious and does not stop at the first answers.
  11. Ability to learn new skills, technical details, and industry-specific information quickly.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to Chief of Staff *

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
