GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Product Owner (GoPass) is responsible for managing the roadmap and feature scope for the GoPass MaaS platform, utilized by the riders of DART and other Transit Agencies across North America. This individual is responsible for feature scoping and delivery for the award winning GoPass Mobile Application suite, including the front-end application, back-office tools, and analytics platform. Working in support of the AVP, Innovation?s long -term strategic vision for Mobility as a Service (MaaS), the Product Owner will translate the long-term goals for the Agency into defined and scoped stories for the development team, leveraging customer insights, business analysis expertise and through collaboration with various Agency departments. The Product owner will act as a development gatekeeper, prioritizing needs based on dependency, readiness for delivery and available scope allocation. The successful candidate for this role will have experience working with C-Level executives, working across multiple businesses, and working in partnership with remotely based developers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Project lead for creating customer value with MaaS service products and leads MaaS products through conception, initiation, development, deployment (pilot and scale), and continued refinement.
  2. Understands target audience(s)/user(s) through ongoing research and study.
  3. Defines and communicates product vision and ideas that inspires others to follow with commitment and dedication and prioritizes development of product features and requirements, including new requests from inside and outside the team.
  4. Builds operational components and prioritizes technology features with affiliates and business partners.
  5. Establishes a program management approach for overall market rollout of MaaS products.
  6. Communicates and collaborates broadly with DART stakeholders and business partners related to the products.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

  1. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Information Technology or related field.
  2. Six (6) years of experience working in technology related projects including to include two (2) years practitioner experience using the Agile methodology and Agile software project management tools, four (4) years professional experience in corporate or government environment, and two (2) years experience with customer-facing large-scale application product management, ideally including scaling of multi-tenant mobile technology.
  3. Ability to demonstrate user experience design, product management, and agile development environments.
  4. Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking and planning skills, identifying, clarifying, and organizing work-streams necessary to solve the customers problems and deliver world-class solutions.
  5. Ability to be customer experience focused, driving mutual success of projects being undertaken by DART.
  6. Passionate for the transit industry and technology, and excitement to expand the customer base of GoPass App solution.
  7. Technical competence to speak with authority on mobile applications for MaaS sector.
  8. Ability to demonstrate understanding a products target audience, their needs, and competitive activity.
  9. Ability to exhibit adaptability in highly-fluid and changing conditions.
  10. Ability to communicate effectively to senior and executive management; solid written and verbal communication skills that can be tailored to internal partners
  11. Ability to demonstrate a fiduciary obligation to section, division, department, and DART in handling materials and information of a confidential nature.
  12. Ability to turn complex use cases into intuitive and shippable product experiences.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to AVP INNOVATION *

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
