GENERAL SUMMARY:
As a Solutions Architect, you will design and articulate mobile solutions to help DART achieve business goals for the GoPass Mobile Solution, and other emerging technology related initiatives. You will track mobile industry technology trends and best practices and share your thoughts within the organization, as well as offer thought leadership externally. This is a high profile role in DARTs Office of Innovation, joining a team tasked with solving Mobility challenges through technology for transit riders across DARTs region and beyond The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about mobile development standards (Android, iOS, Responsive Web, Mobile Middleware) and familiar with deployment of mobile apps across platforms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Tracks the latest developments and direction of mobile platforms, and provides a point of view for the company. Responsible for the technology roadmap for GoPass and DARTs Mobility as a Solution (MaaS) digital framework.
  2. Assists business development team with new project estimates and drives conversations with client IT stakeholders as required.
  3. Aware of technology trends and provides a point of view on how they impact mobile machine learning, IOT, AR/VR, natural language interfaces, etc.
  4. Navigates the complexities of multi-tenant architecture, ensuring technical requirements are scoped to fully deliver against goals for multiple clients sharing a multi-tenant digital platform.
  5. Able to translate Agency business goals into achievable technical strategies and high-level requirements, keeping user experience as a top priority.
  6. Evaluates potential candidates for technical partnerships such as mobile SDKs, big data personalization platforms or technology enablement.
  7. Partners with DART and outside vendors to establish work project estimates for new development, align dependencies and ensure long-term strategic vision is employed for DART digital product suite.
  8. Maintains confidentiality of credentials, components of statistical work, documents, proprietary system design and trade secrets
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

  1. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  2. Seven (7) years of experience years of technical working experience as a software architect to include three (3) years of experience in development with Native mobile technologies across Android (Java, Kotlin) and iOS (Swift), four (4) years of object-oriented programming, two (2) years of Google Firebase or other analytical platforms experience, two years (2)years of client-side programming languages such as .NET, JAVA, PHP, Ruby, C#, C++, Visual Basic, Python, two years (2) experience in database design (& NoSQL) and three (3) years experience with API Management and Middleware platforms, such as Apigee, Mulesoft, Tibco Mashery.
  3. High level of knowledge in designing REST/SOAP web services using Node.JS, JavaScript.
  4. High-level knowledge of mobile platform capabilities, SDK landscape, cross-platform tools and limitations, web technical stacks, available middleware and application platforms, etc.
  5. Ability to understand security and compliance and the impact as it relates to mobile and web applications, specifically HIPAA, PCI, DRM, Accessibility.
  6. Excellent communication skills with a high emphasis on the ability to explain technology in business terms and to express opinions clearly.
  7. Ability to be solutions oriented and ability to creatively solve problems on the fly.
  8. Ability to embrace a start-up mentality and work in a fast-paced, extremely team-oriented environment.
  9. Ability to demonstrate user experience design, product management, and agile development environments.
  10. Ability to be customer experience focused, driving mutual success of projects being undertaken by DART.
  11. Ability to demonstrate competency identifying, clarifying, and organizing work-streams necessary to solve the customers problems and deliver world-class solutions.
  12. Passionate for the transit industry and technology, and excitement to expand the customer base of GoPass App solution.
  13. Ability to be technically competent to speak with authority on mobile applications for MaaS sector.
  14. Ability to demonstrate understanding a products target audience, their needs, and competitive activity.
  15. Ability to communicate effectively to senior and executive management; solid written and verbal communication skills that can be tailored to internal partners.
  16. Ability to demonstrate a fiduciary obligation to section, division, department, and DART in handling materials and information of a confidential nature.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to AVP INNOVATION *

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
