GENERAL SUMMARY:
As a User Experience Architect, you will design and articulate mobile solutions to help DART achieve business goals for the GoPass Mobile Solution, and other emerging customer-facing initiatives utilizing user research data to inform your designs. You will track mobile industry technology trends and best practices and share your thoughts within the organization, as well as offer thought leadership externally, bridging the voice of the customer to thoughtful solution design. This is a high profile role in DARTs Office of Innovation, you will be joining a team tasked with solving Mobility challenges through technology for transit riders across DARTs region and beyond. The successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of multi-platform design standards and user research methods. He/She will be capable of operating at multiple levels, providing consultation to the business and our partners on User Experience best practices, while executing high quality User Interface designs and User Tests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Obsession with empowering customers, partners, and employees to create high-value outcomes and meet goals; coupled with the tenacity to remove barriers, overcome obstacles, build support, and create opportunities for experimentation.
  2. Able to translate Agency business goals into visualized wire-frames and prototypes, keeping user experience as a top priority.
  3. Able to design, conduct, and analyze user research and testing across multiple mediums to understand customer behavior
  4. Develop a deep understanding of DARTs rider segments, learning their needs and guiding product design to support specific rider segment needs.
  5. Provide UI and experience design for complex multi-tenant mobile App environment and other digital properties, ensuring UI and experience aspects are scoped to fully deliver against goals for multiple clients sharing a multi-tenant digital platform.
  6. Develop wireframes, prototypes and perform user research and testing.
  7. Lead journey mapping and design thinking based workshop sessions.
  8. Aware of technology trends (ex: IOT, AR/VR, natural language interfaces, etc), leads agency in insight on how technology trends may impact user experience and user interface design.
  9. Strong influencing skills to navigate a complex, matrixed organization and gain the confidence and sponsorship of critical stakeholders.
  10. Be a connector and coalition-builder across the organization and to customers and partners.
  11. Articulate and represent business risks and opportunities uncovered through the understanding of customer and partner needs, goals, and value creation processes to senior leadership.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

  1. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Human Computer Interaction, Psychology or a similar field.
  2. Eight (8) years of working experience in a User Experience and/or User Interface Design role to include four (4) years working experience in user research techniques and approaches.
  3. An up to date portfolio of projects youve worked on.
  4. Pass a physical (medical) examination that includes a drug screen in order to operate DART non-revenue vehicles.
  5. High-level knowledge of design and prototyping platforms, such as InVision, Adobe XD, Figma Marvel
  6. Excellent communication skills with a high emphasis on the ability to explain technical principles in business terms and to express opinions clearly.
  7. Willingness to embrace a start-up mentality and work in a fast-paced, extremely team-oriented environment.
  8. Ability to demonstrate skills in user experience design, product management, and agile development principles.
  9. Passionate for the transit industry and technology, and excitement to expand the customer base of GoPass App solution.
  10. Ability to be technically competent to speak with authority on user experience and interface design across various domains.
  11. Ability to demonstrate understanding of a products target audience, their needs, and competitive activity through data-informed research.
  12. Ability to communicate effectively to senior and executive management; solid written and verbal communication skills that can be tailored to internal partners.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to Director Digital CX Strategy *

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
