GENERAL SUMMARY:
The CareerLink Technical Trainer will be responsible for assisting in the implementation and administration of a variety of training programs that facilitate the development of Transportation Department employees. Incumbent will provide support of training employees relative to soft skills such as leadership, career development, talent management, computer, etc. in both instructor led and online Elearning environments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists in the daily operations of CareerLink.
  2. Ensures classroom and equipment are in a ready state for all classes scheduled prior to scheduled class time.
  3. Trains CareerLink Facilitators on the proper use and set up of audiovisual equipment.
  4. Provides technical support for CareerLink trainees and staff, and is responsible for the CareerLink Help Desk coverage (i.e. MS Office assistance, online training initiatives, Career Cruising, etc.).
  5. Serves as an advisor for employees seeking assistance with career planning.
  6. Monitors training materials and ensures training supplies inventory is in adequate supply for all scheduled classes.
  7. Monitors facility and reports needed repairs to CareerLink management and facility maintenance teams.
  8. Communicates with management team on equipment issues and is proactive in requesting repairs be performed in a timely manner.
  9. Studies training materials thoroughly and facilitates all CareerLink training programs effectively.
  10. Becomes proficient designing programs for use in all online learning environments used by CareerLink.
  11. Provides 5 Star Customer Service to internal and external customers.
  12. Demonstrates ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced working environment.
  13. Has ability to work flexible hours and weekends periodically.
  14. Serves as back up support to the Career Training Specialist position.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

  1. Bachelors degree from accredited college or university in Human Resources, Training, Business Administration or related field.
  2. Two (2) years current experience in the development of programs/people in a training or Operations environment.
  3. Has DDI Training Certification or attends and earns DDI training certification for targeted training programs.
  4. Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  5. Advanced computer skills preferred and ability to learn eLearning training processes.
  6. Ability to be flexible working within a team environment.
  7. Ability to maintain highly confidential employee information.
  8. Excellent project management skills.
  9. Knowledge of adult learning principles and practices.
  10. Excellent analytic and communication skills.
  11. Results driven, high energy and motivated.
  12. Proactive, approachable, able to command respect of senior business leaders, peers, and subordinates through leadership, intelligence, hard work, and presence.
  13. Ability to be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to Sr Mgr Bus Services *

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
