GENERAL SUMMARY:
Part-time position, 29 hours per week. Assists with videography, photography and audio-visual needs of the agency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Works with Sr. Manager, External Communications and Audio/Visual Specialist to identify and execute the journalistic videography and photography needs to support overall communication efforts and needs of the organization.
  2. Responsible for video editing using Final Cut Pro X and producing a final video product that aligns with agency brand standards, including font and logo usage; photography, graphic elements; tone and messaging.
  3. Responsible for setting up and operating camera equipment in studio, out in the field, and in conditions where elements such as lighting, setting, temperature, etc. are inconsistent.
  4. Responsible for photo editing, using Photoshop.
  5. Provides audio/visual support at Board meetings, committee meetings, public meetings, public hearings, grand openings, groundbreakings, workshops, and the like.
  6. Assists AV specialist in managing AV equipment to include distribution, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  7. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

  1. Associates degree from an acredited college or university in broadcast or electronic communications, media communications, audio and visual communication technology or related.
  2. Two (2) years experience in commercial/lifestyle photography, videography, audio visual production and Final Cut Pro X to include one year experience in using After Effects and photoshop.
  3. Work requires a valid Texas Class A, B, or C drivers license, no Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) conviction within the last (60) consecutive months, not more than one DWI conviction on driving record, and not more than (3) convictions of moving violations within the last (36) consecutive months to operate DART non-revenue vehicles.
  4. Physical ability required to walk, bend/stoop, frequently, more than 25% of work time, stand, and frequently, 25% or more of work time, lift, load/unload, push, or move objects weighing 5 - 50 pounds such as audio/visual equipment to include monitor, VCR, video recorders, etc.
  5. Records maintenance skills. Ability to configure, operate and maintain studio and/or field audio, lighting and associated production equipment.
  6. Knowledge of computerized tape editing applications and procedures.
  7. Knowledge of professional audio and/or video tape editing and post-production procedures, techniques, and standards.
  8. Must knowledge of how artificial and natural lighting affects different settings, shapes, skin tones, etc.
  9. Possess strong communication skills and the ability to discuss complex artistic concepts in easy-to-understand terms.
  10. Mental/visual ability required reading technical materials and concentrating on details when producing presentations, preparing reports, or coordinating projects.
  11. Work requires ability to work irregular hours and to be available to work on short notice.
  12. Personal computer (PC) and applicable software applications necessary to perform duties, including photo/video editing software.
  13. Ability to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform repairs to audio and video equipment.
  14. Ability to effectively manage time and schedules.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to Sr Mgr External Communications*

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
