GENERAL SUMMARY:
Supervises the daily activities of the Mobility Management Services Mobility Ambassador Program by coordinating travel schedules, providing program analysis, preparing daily and monthly reports, conducting outreach programs to promote ambassador program to the community, and evaluates individual program participants. Accompanies client on DART system. Assists client(s) with determining route and mode of travel. Oversees random audits of ambassador work products. Contacts newly certified Paratransit customers to ensure a good experience. Performs ADA Paratransit Customer Satisfaction calls to find improvement opportunities. Develops a working knowledge of the Mobility Management Services Department functional areas to be able to explain different department programs to the public. Performs other Mobility Management Programs functions as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Monitors and prepares appointment schedules for up to five Mobility Ambassadors.
  2. Evaluates and makes recommendations based on program analysis for ways to improve Mobility Ambassador Program.
  3. Develops outreach and marketing strategies to promote Ambassador Program to adult living centers, senior recreation centers, and other programs and facilities in the community that serve older adults and people with disabilities.
  4. Oversees trip by trip eligibility process to determine trips that are/are not ADA eligible for Paratransit riders who are conditionally eligible.
  5. Public speaking at community events to various groups and organizations about the availability and benefits of the Mobility Ambassador Program.
  6. Prepares assignments for customer survey calls, new certified rider calls, and other needed functions.
  7. Prepares a variety of reports for management review to determine program effectiveness.
  8. Ongoing development of forms and applications to identify and match individual program participants with the appropriate Mobility Ambassador.
  9. Submits applications for background checks on program participants, as needed, along with the ability to maintain and manage above average record keeping.
  10. Meets customer(s) at pre-determined time and location and assists customer(s) with navigating DARTs transportation system.
  11. Gathers bus route and/or rail schedule information using a variety of techniques to include, but not limited to, DARTs on-line trip scheduler, DARTs Customer Service Center, paper schedules, Google Maps, GoPass, etc.
  12. Fills out daily time logs and reports.
  13. Reports/communicates problems, concerns, etc. to supervisor on a daily basis.
  14. Promotes DARTs Mobility Management Program and using all of DARTs modes of transportation, including ADA Paratransit, Rider Assistance Programs, GoLink, fixed route bus/rail, and pilot programs.
  15. Performs calls to newly certified ADA Paratransit customers, customer satisfactions survey calls, and other calls as assigned.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

  1. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Allied Health Science, or related field.
  2. Five (5) year experience working with people with disabilities or older adults in a training capacity, classroom instruction, and/or working with patients/students and their family, advocates, and support agencies.
  3. Valid Drivers License. No Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) conviction within the last 60 consecutive months; not more than one (1) on driving record. No more than three (3) moving violation convictions within last 36 months to operate DART non-revenue vehicle.
  4. Pass a physical (medical) examination, which includes a drug screen in order to operate DART non-revenue vehicle.
  5. Ability to be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Gets first-hand customer information and uses it for improvements in products and services. Acts with customers in mind. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.
  6. Ability to lift boxes and other items weighing up to 30 pounds on an intermittent basis.
  7. Ability to use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. Probes all fruitful sources for answers. Can see hidden problems. Is excellent at honest analysis. Looks beyond the obvious and doesnt stop at the first answers.
  8. Ability to step up to conflicts, seeing them as opportunities. Reads situations quickly. Good at focused listening. Can hammer out tough agreements and settle disputes equitably. Can find common ground and get cooperation with minimum noise.
  9. Ability to practice attentive and active listening. Has the patience to hear people out. Can accurately restate the opinions of others even when he/she disagrees.
  10. Ability to be able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles. Can get messages across that have the desired effect.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to Sr Mgr Mobility Mgmt & Plng *

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided. Up to 85% of time may be spent outdoors, in all types of weather conditions.
