GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for enterprise level systems administration including: maintenance, backups, patch management, support, troubleshooting, installation, and break/fix. Areas of responsibility include Active Directory, Office 365, Microsoft System Center (SCOM, SCCM, SCVMM, SCSM) DEV, QA, UAT, Pre-Production, and Production server environments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Implement, maintain and upgrade Microsoft System Center 2012 Suite of tools.
  2. Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot the agency Active Directory (AD) environment, including Active Directory Service, as well as other supporting services such as Group Policy Objects (GPO), Distributed File Systems (DFS), IIS, etc.
  3. Work with IT Infrastructure teams to troubleshoot application issues when users are unable to access or authenticate to system.
  4. Plan and coordinate day to day operation and maintenance of enterprise hardware and software systems and servers, including installation, testing and troubleshooting.
  5. Plan and schedule the installation of new and modified hardware/software, allocating system resources, managing access and administration accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
  6. Provide resource utilization and capacity planning support which includes: base-lining utilization of server resources (CPU, memory, storage space, backup capacity).
  7. Monitor the server resources to track utilization/consumption trends, and forecast when resource utilization/consumption will affect service performance.
  8. Recover, reload, and restore files, server volumes, and databases from backups.
  9. Implement and administer security procedures and tools.
  10. Identify and resolve hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
  11. Maintain systems configuration records; manage the installation and integration of system software patches, updates, and enhancements.
  12. Assist with preparing and maintaining storage management plans, including routine backups, long-term archives, and disaster recovery support. Assist with the deployment of the Disaster Recovery Plan.
  13. Provide on call support 24 hours, 7 days a week on a rotating basis.
  14. Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

  1. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  2. Five (5) years experience in supporting enterprise software applications with at least one of the following: Windows Server 2008 or higher, Microsoft System Center, VMware ESX, VOIP, UNIX/Linux, EMC Networker and to include three (3) years experience with Group Policy Objects (GPOs) writing, software deployment, security settings and configurations.
  3. Two certifications required for this position: Qualifying candidates must have current certification in at least one of the following: MCSE Windows 2008/2012, VMware VCP5 (or later), or MCSA 2008/2012, EMCBA or Linux. Candidates who do not currently possess more than one of these certifications must obtain the second certification within 2-years of appointment. Certifications must stay current with industry standards for continued employment.
  4. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of system development and scripting with SCCM 2008/2012.
  5. High-level written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels, both inside and outside of DART.
  6. Proficient using PC and software applications.
  7. Ability to work variable shifts and work hours.
  8. High-level analytical skills and initiative to find solutions to complex technical problems.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to Senior Manager-Client Services*

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
