GENERAL SUMMARY:
Oversees highly complex administrative activities for Dallas Area Rapid Transit's (DART) Marketing department. Oversees assigned administrative staff and budget: Resolves complex problems, complaints, and issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develops, implements, and maintains agency-wide policies and procedures to select, purchase, inventory, and distribute all merchandising, commemorative and promotional items.
  2. Oversees storage, distribution, and inventory of merchandising, commemorative, and promotional items for the Agency. Provides options and inventory for DART Exhibits, Retail Outlets, and Pass Sales Programs.
  3. Prepares and presents a variety of reports for department and management review to include trend analysis, spreadsheets, etc. as it relates to retail pass and merchandising sales
  4. Administers departmental contracts and other procurements pertinent to retail management.
  5. Acts as a resource to and liaison with internal/external contacts in developing marketing programs, completing activities and projects, and other related administrative activities.
  6. Ability to address issues that have been escalated at retail due to complex problems, complaints, and issues.
  7. Responsible for overseeing DART pass inventory and sales management of retail outlets wherever DART pass products are sold.
  8. Responsible for the accounting of opening and closing receipts of the DART store.
  9. Manages administrative staffing and logistics for remote ticketing sales of DART passes.
  10. Supervises assigned administrative staff and oversees allocated budget.
  11. Provide training to improve the staffs knowledge base and utilize cross-training methods to maintain productivity when absent.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

  1. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or a related field.
  2. Four (4) years of experience in banking, revenue systems operations, or related fields to include two (2) years managing a professional staff.
  3. Pass a physical (medical) examination that includes a drug screen to operate DART non-revenue vehicles.
  4. Proficiency in PC software applications to include Microsoft Office or other related software applications. Computer database and productivity software skills preferred.
  5. Analytical and creative skills to find solutions to complex interpersonal, technical, and administrative problems.
  6. Strong understanding of sales and customer service techniques.
  7. Demonstrated ability to maintain and work within a budget
  8. Ability to be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Gets first-hand customer information and uses it for improvements in products and services. Acts with customers in mind. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.
  9. Ability to marshal resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done. Can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal. Uses resources effectively and efficiently. Helpfully arranges information and files.
  10. Ability to use his/her time effectively and efficiently. Values time. Concentrates his/her efforts on the more important priorities. Has the ability to get more done in less time than others. Can attend to a broader range of activities.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to AVP Marketing Services *

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
