GENERAL SUMMARY:
Leads and Manages the planning, execution, and measurement of marketing, advertising, promotional and partnership initiatives as well as assigned personnel to impact the DART system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for development of DARTs annual promotions, partnerships/strategic alliances and media plans.
  2. Serves as relationship manager and primary liaison with external companies and organizations in developing and executing partnerships and strategic alliances.
  3. Interfaces with DART senior leadership and internal departments to find the best solutions for their marketing and creative needs.
  4. Manages the marketing aspect of the service development process and interfaces with Service Planning to develop and market DART core and ancillary services.
  5. Manages and aligns personnel and agency resources and budgets to maximize outcomes.
  6. Oversees the implementation and execution of marketing and promotions designed to increase customer engagement, consideration, ridership and relevance.
  7. Defines research opportunities and oversees data insights and collection to provide informed recommendations.
  8. Develops talent and coaches staff for cross-functional collaboration to achieve success.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

  1. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Business, Product Management, Communications or related field. Masters degree preferred.
  2. Eight (8) years progressive responsible experience in corporate marketing, advertising, promotions or related field to include four (4) managing a professional staff.
  3. Proficient using PC or MAC, Microsoft Office suite including Excel and PowerPoint.
  4. Advanced written and oral communications skills to effectively communicate with all levels, both inside and outside DART. Must possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of employees, vendors, contractors, media, a culturally diverse community, and others both inside and outside of DART when discussing technical information, interacting in meetings, or explaining policies and procedures.
  5. Ability to be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
  6. Ability to provide challenging and stretching tasks and assignments to direct reports; supports equal and fair treatment and opportunity for all; cooperates with the developmental system in the organization.
  7. Ability to settle disputes equitably; can find common ground and get cooperation with minimum noise.
  8. Ability to blend people into teams when needed; creates strong morale and spirit in his/her team; shares wins and successes; defines success in terms of the whole team.
  9. Ability to scope out length and difficulty of tasks and projects; measures performance against goals.
  10. Ability to use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
  11. Ability to figure out the processes necessary to accomplish tasks; can facilitate effective brainstorming and build consensus among team members; can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal; uses resources effectively and efficiently.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to AVP Marketing *

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
